Technology for the Busy Professional

As a business owner, I love being cheap. If I can find tools that are affordable and will help me be more productive in my business, I am all for it. Here are a few of my favorite technology tools I use on a regular basis.

Phone calls: Since I travel a lot including internationally, I use Skype. Skype allows me to make calls from my computer to anyone else on the service for free. You can also use Skype to place calls from your computer to any telephone for only 2 cents per minute. And the only equipment you will need is a headset!

Virtual Meetings: FreeConferenceCall.com lets you set up a phone conference with up to 96 people. The phone numbers are not toll free, the caller does pay regular long distance charges. I use this service twice a month as I am working with different groups around the country.

Documents and spreadsheets and task management: Take a look at Zoho project for great office performance. It allows you to keep track of projects for yourself and your team and interact with tasks on the web. Excellent tool for multiple projects.

I admit I am not the most computer savvy individual, but these products do make my life easier, and the best part…they are perfect for all budgets since they are free!
